TiNRS NextTuesday - Eurorack Sequencer

This is Not Rocket Sience - Wobbler2 is an advanced LFO & a drum synthesizer. It is still is the LFO that adds controlled chaos to your sound.

This is Not Rocket Sience

NextTuesday - Procedural Sequencer

NextTuesday shapes melodies based on mathematical procedures better known as algorithms.

We dove into music and came up with a number of ideas of how notes could be held in sequence. We now have 14 of them and a test pattern.

The knobs and inputs give you hands-on control over various parameters, the dynamics of probability and timing.

You design the sound while the melody continues.

The X and Y knobs let you tweak the parameters of every algorithm, changing the dimensions of the melody and giving you a vast mathematical space to play with.

 LFO MODE
A classical music instrument always contains some natural chaos giving depth to its’ sound. In synthesized sound usually you have to make a choice between being in complete control of a flat sound or allowing randomness to run wild and give it character. We have used fresh takes on classical LFO generation and physical modelling as a modulation source so that Wobbler² can give you the best of both worlds – naturally occurring chaos that you can control.

  • With the SHAPE knob you select between five shapes
    • Basic LFO
    • Self-phased LFO
    • Twang
    • Double pendulum
    • Sample-and-hold
  • The MOD knob controls shape specific modulation
  • The big FREQUENCY knob changes the speed at which it oscillates
  • The SYNC input will change the FREQUENCY knob into a sub-divider of the incoming tempo
  • The PHASE knob controls the phase difference between the two outputs
  • SHAPE, FREQUENCY, PHASE and MOD all have CV inputs
  • The TRIGGER button can reset the phase of the LFO or restart the algorithm depending on your SHAPE selection
  • Both outputs have a knob to alter or invert the amplitude of the signal
  • Both outputs also have their own trigger output – sending a trigger at the start of each new phase
  • The two LED arrays show you the generated CV levels of each output

DRUM SYNTHESIZER MODE
With the push of the BANG ON! button you shift the Wobbler² into drumming mode. Giving you a range of drum sounds, with five regions of recognizable drums and a lot to explore in between. There are multiple percussive sets with real and imaginary drums to bang on. Along with the drum Wobbler² provides the envelope or the negated envelope (ducking) and adds flexibility on the decay of both envelopes. Play with it, see how you feel.

  • With the REGIONS OF DRUM knob you select a region of 5 drum styles
    • Big drum
    • Block
    • Sproing
    • Snare drum
    • Hi-hat
  • The LENGTH parameter controls the sound or the silence
  • The ALTER parameter controls modulation, which means something else for every drum synthesizer
  • The big FREQUENCY knob changes the pitch
  • The ACCENT input adds an accent
  • SHAPE, FREQUENCY, PHASE and MOD all have CV inputs
  • The TRIGGER button bangs the drum
  • DRUM output parameter ranges between distortion or compression of your drum sound
  • ENVELOPE output parameter ranges between the normal and negated envelope of your drum sound
  • Both outputs also have their own trigger output
  • One LED arm will show you when the drum hits and the other LED arm shows you the associated envelope moving

Drum Samples
We also added drum sample banks for you to play with. You enter the banks by pressing the BANG ON! button and the TRIGGER button at the same time. Wobbler²  has 7 banks of 7 drum sounds each made by electronic, mixed and acoustic drums and even a bank of vocal percussion. Use the REGIONS OF DRUM knob to select one of the sounds within a bank. The sounds will match the regions of the drum synthesizer – sort of. All other inputs / outputs work the same.
We filled these banks with sounds we really like (like a special ceramic linggg) but we are also working on an online tool that will allow you to create and load your own banks. The hardware is all ready for this.
